ICOP 2016 has started

The international conference on permafrost is the premier event for permafrost research worldwide and is taking place 20-24 June 2016

The conference program can be accessed online and will be updated regularly during the conference:

The short program is also available online. It will also be made available to all participants in the conference package. The short program was sent to print two weeks ago and does not include some last minute modifications to the program. Use the online conference program or the app for the latest version.

The book of abstracts is available online and will be distributed to the participants on a USB stick. Beware, this is a 350 MB file!

Conference App

Media/Press

We have teamed up with a German college specialized in media training (DEKRA Hochschule für Medien, Berlin) to create innovative media contents to report on the conference. You will see students with a label “DEKRA Team” roaming the conference making videos of the events, sessions and meetings. They might also spontaneously ask you to answer a couple of questions about your experience at the conference. A short video based on this content (best of the day) will be shown every morning prior to the plenary lecture. They will also release news and photos on social media. Let us know if you want us not to take pictures of you during the conference upon registration.

Young Researchers

We will host a lot of activities for Young Researchers. 

ICOP2016 is proud to introduce a large number of activities and support for young researchers. These include a 2-day young researcher workshop, presentation and poster awards, a lounge available for the whole time of the conference and  a football tournament.
